Great food and service. The Steak Tartar was delicious, as well as the Beef Stew and the pork chop. The cocktails were mediocre.

Excellent food and attentive service staff. Scallops, Endive salad, and tasty pork belly dish. Just a wonderful experience. Take Uber or Lyft. Friday night parking impossible.

Whether you live on Capitol Hill or are visiting, Belga is a must. Chef Bart did an amazing job at renovating the restaurant inside and out!

Great evening. Table ready for us, on arrival. We shared the Brie truffle cheese appetizer and it was great. Ask for extra bread for 2. My wife had the lobster waffle and I had the Varkenskotolet, pork chop. Both were good portion and excellent. Presentation and taste. We each had a glass of wine from their extensive and impressive wine list. We shared a dessert of Blauwe Bosbessen Marsepein Cake, warm almond cake and finished with the martini espresso. Service was very very good. Only downside is the challenge to find parking on the street. Side roads are reserved for residents. Plan an extra 10-15 minutes to find a spot closeby.

Our service was good - it was loud. The food was good and looked beautiful when it came out to the table. The coffee was weak and the food overall was expensive for what it was.

Celebrated my husband's birthday here. Didn't realize it was restaurant week. Was thinking the dishes would be smaller than normal, but they weren't. The place is very welcoming and pretty casual, which they probably have to be to survive tourist season. We had on nice jeans and dressy shirts and were probably the most dressed up. The food was really delicious and nicely innovative. There was only one choice for dessert for the restaurant week menu. Since it was my husband's birthday, we opted to order two different desserts. The waiter made sure to tell us that we would be paying full menu price for all items ordered (rather than the $55 each for the restaurant week menu). When they showed up with the desserts, they actually brought the 2 we ordered AND the restaurant week "peach" dessert! They were all fantastic. When they brought the check, the waiter let us know that they just charged us the restaurant week price and said "happy birthday." It's not often you find a group of staff/owners who are so personal and thoughtful to the diners. We will definitely go back and likely bring our family too. Highly recommend Belga Cafe for a unique and accommodating cafe!

This is one of our favorite restaurants. I am glad the quality of the food and variety has remained consistently good. Great to see that the staff service has improved! Can’t wait to return!

We had reservations, but the staff was surprised apparently because when we showed no table was available. After awkwardly waiting by the bar for 10 minutes they finally sat us at a table right next to the kitchen and bathrooms. I really like Belga, the food is amazing (sweet & savory waffles among other delights) and usually the atmosphere is good, but the noise and constant traffic near the kitchen and bathrooms made it really hard to hold a conversation. In general I would say, enjoy the food, but take care to be seated by the front of the restaurant.

We have been dining at Belga since it opened in 2004. Prior to COVID, this was our “go to” restaurant for family events. That could be a cozy, anniversary dinner for two, or an extended family dinner for 12. Belga’s food and service always delivers. If you live in the DMV or are visiting Washington DC from elsewhere, you will not be disappointed if you choose to dine at Belga. A very special experience!
