Le bœuf du restaurant Bateau est dépecé et vieilli à sec sur place. Les coupes de spécialité provenant de la ferme de l'établissement, située à Whidbey Island, et d'autres fermes qui ont des engagements similaires en termes de qualité, de durabilité et de bien-être des animaux, sont vendues au poids et cuites dans une poêle en fonte. Le Bateau vous propose des accompagnements créatifs, des frites à triple cuisson, des cocktails emblématiques et une vaste carte des vins. Le service est convivial mais raffiné. La chef Renee Erickson explique : « Nous travaillons avec des animaux entiers de notre propre ferme et réalisons le processus au complet - l'élevage, les soins, l'alimentation, la finition, la boucherie et le vieillissement sec. Notre ambition est d'élever, préparer et servir le meilleur bœuf. »

Not as good as our last visit, sadly.Perhaps just an off night, but: the cuts recommended to us were both chewy, not tender as billed to us. Also, one person's medium rare is not another's, but the steaks were downright blue. More problematic was that our server disappeared halfway through the meal, not to be seen again, with no explanation. Various other staff eventually took our food away, and got us our bill, but we did not feel taken care of. When we left, not so much as a "farewell." It's too bad because we really had a good meal and good service the earlier time we visited, and the concept is fun.

Great Steak, soft, a Little Bit crispy on the outside; good wine; great idea with the walls and striking the steaks which are ordered already

The service was amazing! We did the tasting menu and I liked about 50% of the items. But the we also got the drinking pairining and the was the star of the night along with the service. The steak was dry and under cooked and the did a play on a Seattle dog, that was too heavy for a second course. I would go back but just not get the tasting menu.

I'm not even a big meat eater, but Bateau knocked my socks off. The wait staff patiently explained the two dozen or so beef cuts and helped out-of-town guests and myself find just the right preparation for our level of daring. Beginning with the smoked octopus appetizer that included pepper threads and tiny droplets of congealed olive oil and something else (I'm going from memory, not rereading the menu) our tastebuds were dazzled. Then came the beef with anchovy butter and sides of mashed potatoes and creamed nettles. A perfect combination of taste sensations and visual flourish. Finishing up, we splurged and had potato skin ice cream with chocolate nibs and decaf French press. Couldn't have been better. I will be back.

First off. The service is polished and totally professional. The servers aren’t “working their way through college”. This is their livelihood, they know this is a craft, and they’re excellent and knowledgeable. The food: The value proposition is not good. The oysters are excellent, and you’ll pay for it. The steak quality is “more sizzle than steak”. Despite the show, pomp, and circumstance of explaining the steak, its provenance and preparation, the goods didn’t quite deliver. I am a steak connoisseur. Grass finishing is an acquired taste, and though the steak was fine, it missed the mark. The server insisted on the bone marrow sauce to top the steak. $180 for an 18oz ribeye shouldn’t need a sauce. The sides were small, but excellent. Drinks were on point. Great bartender.

Been seeing all the hype on social media for awhile now and finally made it in! Definitely exceeded all of my expectations! I would recommend coming in earlier as the steak options sell out quick on a busy night. Outside of the delicious dry aged steak I highly encourage trying the beef liver pâté and the french onion croquettes! *Chefs Kiss*

The drinks and appetizers we got were very good, of the two steaks one was pretty good, one was okay at best. The real let down was the beignets, which were quite bad, with a really bitter burnt taste.
