Barbuzzo est un restaurant et bar méditerranéen situé dans le quartier branché de Midtown Village au centre-ville. On y sert des petits plats à partager. Muni d'un four à bois pour les pizzas et la cuisson lente, le Barbuzzo propose un menu sur lequel figure des plats rustiques tels que la pieuvre grillée avec des pommes de terre, des poivrons grillés avec soppressata, des raviolis de panais avec du canard mijoté et des poires rôties et la « Pizza Uovo » garnie de feuilles de choux de Bruxelles, de jambon guanciale et d'un œuf fermier à la truffe. Le prix des plats varie entre 3 USD et 32 USD. Barbuzzo dispose d'un bar disposant d'une variété de vins méditerranéens, de bières artisanales et de cocktails variés. I have always had a great experience at Barbuzzo over the multiple years I have gone. The staff is welcoming and friendly and most importantly the food is absolutely phenomenal from starters to desserts. They offer smaller plates which are great to share to get a taste of everything!

We go for the salted caramel budino and everything else is icing on the cake. Amazing service, as always!

This was my first time eating at Barbuzzo. I’d been looking forward to trying one of Philly’s most revered restaurants. In some ways it lived up to its reputation. In other ways, not so much. The appetizers were quite good - aroncini, grilled bread with whipped feta, and a beet salad. The textures were good, the flavors were fresh and well balanced. None of us had any complaints about the appetizers at all. Although I have a pet peeve about restaurants charging for bread at the table. It would’ve been two dollars for bread for the table, and while this is certainly minimal, I always regard it as ungenerous when restaurants have this policy. For me where this restaurant had an epic fail was the main dish. I ordered the pasta with “Sunday sauce,” a pork Ragu. The pasta was clearly store-bought and overcooked, and the sauce was so spicy and salty that after two bites, I could not eat anymore. There was no mention of spice in the description on the menu. Moreover, the meat was practically nonexistent, but instead the pasta was blobbed together with so much melted cheese at the bottom that the pasta could not even be mixed. The restaurant was gracious about providing me with a different entrée (bronzino), which was good, but nothing I couldn’t make myself at home. I ate it mostly because it was there, and not because it was anything special. I’ve had this experience multiple times in Philadelphia restaurants, where the entrées are honestly not worth ordering, and you are better off sticking with the appetizers. The budino for dessert was very good. I was glad to finally be able to try it, although all of the dessert options were soft and pudding like. I would love to see the addition of something with a little more chew, like a piece of cake or a tart. All in all, I would go back, but I wouldn’t run to do so. I feel that my curiosity about this restaurant has been satisfied with one visit.

Quality meal at a fair price. Creative, seasonal twists on familiar dishes (shakshuka with corn and zucchini, for instance), along with wood-fired pizzas keep the menu fresh.

Great location. It was a little dark which made it hard to read the menu. The food was just good but not super flavorful. The staff were nice and attentive even though it was so busy

We came to Barbuzzo for restaurant week, which is always a chaotic and booming time. The food was great, the service was quick, and it had great ambiance. The only thing that I would comment on negatively is that the seating can be quite cramped. I would definitely go back.
