Célébrant sa 108ème année d'ouverture, le Barbetta Restaurant est le plus ancien restaurant de New York toujours détenu par la famille fondatrice. Le Barbetta est aussi le plus ancien restaurant italien de New York et le plus ancien du quartier des théâtres. Cette triple distinction lui a valu la récompense du Locali Storici d'Italia. Dans un intérieur brillant décoré avec des antiquités italiennes du XVIIIe siècle, le Barbetta sert une cuisine du Piémont, la région italienne le plus au nord-ouest. En été, son jardin incroyablement verdoyant avec ses arbres centenaires et parfumé de fleurs de glycines, de lauriers roses, de jasmin et de gardénia en font l'un des endroits les plus prisés pour les repas en plein air.

Everyone who visits NYC should go to Barbetta at least once in their lifetime to experience how dining should be and used to be. The attention to detail from the wait staff, and the welcoming nature of the bartender, hostess, and maitre'd cannot be beat. The decor inside and outside is wonderful and enjoyable in either place. It is fine dining Italian style. My only criticism was not knowing that the menu was pre-fixe for theatre dining, which wasn't on the OpenTable reservation notes. The staff was very accommodating and let us order a la carte (we had some food restrictions) but it would have been nice to see what we were ordering (in writing) vs. trying to hear the explanation.

A charming restaurant. We enjoyed eating here before a show. The service was a bit underwhelming, but the food was good.

Sometimes the waiter just talked and talked and talked to the people who sat at the next table, I was not interested in hearing him talk talk talk nonsense.

We arrived 2 1/2 hours prior to the show we were seeing which allowed us the thoroughly enjoy the restaurant and the food. We were celebrating an anniversary as well and the wait staff made a fuss. It was a lovely night. The food is always amazing.

There is an attractive outdoor garden which is a lovely place to dine in nice weather. The indoor space is stuffy and unappealing. Service was very good and they are mindful of the need for diners to get to the theater. Food was just okay.

The garden at Barbetta is a lovely respite from the hustle and bustle of the city-not to mention the exquisite interior. Eduardo was such a charming gentleman and added a warm and fun factor to the evening. My food was beautifully prepared and presented. No wonder this was my Milanese Father's favorite over the many years. Thank you, cannot wait to return.
