Terrible every time this season. Understaffed, over-cooked food (every time), and totally incompetent staff. I feel bad for the servers who are constantly waiting for drinks as the bar is staffed the worst, the older locals who are not getting waiting on at all while they focus on entitled tourists, and anyone who comes here expecting an experience commensurate with this price point. Our check was dropped without requesting and it would be one thing if we were dragging, but to rush us out because your service is so slow is next level ridiculous. We had drinks, apps, dinner, and dessert and were checked on by our server twice. The current owner has the financial ability to run this restaurant correctly, but clearly not the intellect or desire to do so.

I had a great meal with the family. The drinks, dinner, and desert was all top shelf.

People who dine out regularly know that even a favorite restaurant can have an off night. While we miss the old menu and the variety it offered we understand needing an abridged version. That said the limited menu had almost no choice other than beef or fish entrees. Although it was relatively slow in terms of customers, the service was even slower. We sat at a table in the bar area and it’s still took 35 minutes to get our first cocktail. Our entrées were also slow to the table and one out of two was cold. we had 730 reservations and arrived on time and still felt rushed to leave as we finished our meal at nine.

The server was great and very friendly and helpful! The food was okay but not the quality I was expecting to pay for in this type of restaurant. Our main issue was the fact that there was no communication about a request I had put on our reservation.

Our server Molly was exceptional. Bar service prompt. Between our two entrees, only the buttery mashed potatoes was an issue, they could have been warmer. It had been several years since we last dined here after having a most forgettable meal & service, an anomaly, as today’s experience proved true.

Bar Harbor is one of my favorite eating places in Brainerd. Beautiful location on Gull Lake, great waitresses, and wonderful food!

We (2couples) enjoyed our meal at Bar Harbor once again. The food has been consistent each time we have dined there. Service was pleasant and friendly. We will return!

We love Bar Harbor! The food is great and yesterday we were lucky enough to see some of the beautiful wooden boats that were in town for a show! The wine is always cold, the salads always perfect and the entrees were outstanding...surf and turf for me and pistachio encrusted walleye for my husband. Our server Tamra was fabulous and very attentive. In my opinion, you really can't go wrong at Bar Harbor!
