One of the best lunch set menus in town, delicious creamy and smooth cauliflower soup followed by a perfectly grilled sea-bream, we started with their signature seafood platter with generous amount of oysters, prawns, mussels and crab, dessert was once again the best cream brûlée in London. Wine list was to the point, warm welcome by the host and excellent service as ever.

The fixed price lunch was excellent value for money and was very enjoyable. The service was efficient considering how busy the restaurant was. As a result of the popularity it was quite noisy but we would certainly go again.

We sat in our seats for more than 30 minutes and there was still no waiter to take care of us, for which we called numerous times but were ignored, and even more egregious was that one of the waitresses was called by us twice, but each time asked us to wait and take care of other tables first, hopefully not racist, but we got no response. So I don't recommend this restaurant very much. Suffocating service attitude.

It rarely fails to deliver, Balthazar is a place with a great vibe, service was great and the fixed menu is good value with great choices.

The food and wine were excellent. The only negatives are acoustics and noise level - it was so loud in the restaurant at lunch that it was difficult to carry on a conversation at our table.

Wait staff don't write down the orders. No idea who this impresses (when they get it right) but it's just downright irritating when they get it wrong as they did in this case, (order was for 2 people and not complicated) They forgot one of our drinks and brought the wrong dish for lunch. So we ended up having to ask for one of our drinks 3 times and eating at different times which spoilt the lunch a bit. Just write down the order like they do in pretty much every restaurant everywhere, get the order correct and everyone's happy.

Our waiter Stefan very nice and full of details. I had dessert courtesy of Balthazar to celebrate my birthday. Thank you! I hope to visit soon, my favorite restaurant in Covent Garden. KF

Whenever I'm lucky enough to have an excuse to overnight in Covent Garden/Seven Dials, I try to head over to Balthazar for a Sunday morning breakfast/brunch. The greeting is always pleasantly friendly, and because I'd booked for my birthday morning, the welcome was downright effusive. This time I sat at one of the high-tops facing the bar, and ordered a mimosa and tea to start the proceedings. By sacrificing the English muffins (a tad more toasting would have helped them along) under the generous portion of well prepared eggs Benedict, I felt I could nibble on fresh, hot chips instead. One of the hosts was watching me out of the corner of his eye, and before I could think about calling for the bill, brought out a superb little profiterole complete with gold candle. How sweet! (And aren't I glad I didn't opt for the waffle this visit?) Will be happy to return again whenever I can.
