Waited for our table to be ready 15 mins. Got a new waiter who didn’t know a lot about the menu etc. Though for those who just started she managed to cope! All in all good but nothing that special. Tried a set menu.

Great all round. The food was excellent and they have something for everyone. Cocktails were also great. I’d highly recommend this place for anyone looking for guaranteed satisfaction. We will definitely be returning!

Our waiter was a joy and brought out a surprise dessert with a candle for me when he heard it was my birthday that we were celebrating. Very thoughtful and the service throughout was impeccable. Thank you!

Very poor service Though it was late, staff seemed more interested in setting up for the next day rather than pay any attention to me. Usually I like Balthazar, but this was a very disappointing experience

Large, buzzy brasserie-style restaurant next to Royal Opera House . Excellent prix fixe menu with several choices per course. Served piping hot, well cooked, and well presented. Great for pre and post theatre bookings. Food came very promptly.

I remember going to the original Balthazar in New York in the 1990s and it seemed revolutionary. Paris comes to NYC. The franchise has settled now and it has travelled and travelled well. There is a nice prix fixe menu which suited us well and the staff are attentive and keep things moving along without rushing you. It's not cheap but your are paying, in part, to be in a Grande Brasserie (or simulacrum thereof) and the setting is glorious.
