We waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Four waitresses standing around...Only one other couple seated inside although outside area was mostly full. Hot, spicy nuts appetizer - nuts were stale. Flatbread pizza was crispy on bottom but lacked flavor and seemed undercooked on top. Clam chowder had little to no clams and was served lukewarm. Penne a la vodka sauce tasted and looked like it came out of a can - no flavor, no pepper, basil, cheese on top. Had to ask for cheese. Did not appear to have a manager or owner present for quality control and to check on customer satisfaction. We will never return. So disappointing.

Great wine list, pasta dishes left something to be desired. Our meal came out so quickly we did not have time to enjoy the wine flight. Perfect setting, friendly staff. Would go back for happy hour not for dinner.

A real neighborhood gem! We dine here often for birthdays, gatherings with friends, cocktails and appetizers. The owners are wonderful people, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the wines are amazing! I suggest the lobster bisque and crab cakes for small bites and I love the squash ravioli and seafood casserole for dinner! Love it there!

The service was great but the food was only average. My food was warm when served I expect my food to be served hot. I had two small plates crab cakes and brussel sprouts I feel I could gotten equal quality at my local diner at a much better value. It was ok.

Ballou's has gone way beyond being a wine bar--although the wine selection is excellent. The food here is the best in Guilford. Not only is Ballou's my favorite restaurant, but also the favorite of my out-of-town friends. One called the chocolate fondue the best dessert he had ever eaten! And then there is the artichoke fondue!

Interesting restaurant with a large varied menu. We got 2 of the fondues, cheddar merlot and the tiger cheese both were good and a lot of fun. The paninis we ordered were good and so was the BLT salad although it would be better to have larger pieces of the ingredients.
