The food was really good! We liked the presentation. However, our waitress tried to be very educated and act like a 5-Star Hotel but was too pushy and inexperienced. She stood next to you sometimes and waited until you had your first bite, and also did other questionable things like giving us the desert card while we were in the middle of eating our main course and there was no rush in the restaurant - it was empty. In addition our plates were served from another young waiter who just put the plates roughly without any class on the table, the same for taking the plates away again.

It was disorganized & understaffed. I did feel bad for the entire staff. We were not staying at the Cheeca Lodge, but made a reservation. We arrived to a few sander people not getting sat, due to them assuming that since they were staying there, they didn’t need reservations. Once, we were sat, it took 15 minutes to get a server to greet us. We were in the garden, it began to rain. Between the rain and the seagulls flocking around the tables, we retreated to the bar. Nya was the saving grace of our experience. She immediately made us our drinks & told us she would deliver our food at the bar, even though it wasn’t part of the restaurant. Nya… is a beautiful angel that has a killer smile and gave us solid local advice.
