Artisanal Restaurant is open seasonally from May-October end. Contemporary American Fine Dining in a rustic yet elegant environment. Innovative and progressive thinking in a farm to table approach, only working with the highest quality ingredients. This warm environment offers the best food and wine with excellent service. Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Private dining room adjacent to the wine cellar available for events. The only available menu is a pre-fix style, with 5-6 choices per course, $105/ guest plus a service fee. We do not offer a kids menu however kids prepared to order off our pre-fix menu are welcome. Our Dress Code is Business Casual. Collared shirts are required, jackets are preferred but not required for men. No shorts, distressed jeans, hoodies, hats, or sandals/flip flops. Our private dining room is located adjacent to the wine cellar. For smaller events, 16 or less, the cellar is the best option. For larger parties, up to 65 guests, a restaurant buy-out is an option. Minimums are required for events. Fixed menus are planned with the chef to accommodate guest preferences.

Our server Savannah was fantastic, very personable and attentive. The food was incredible, as it always is. The flavors in the seafood bouillabaisse were complex and extremely well developed. Overall an amazing experience.

We had an outstanding meal at Artisanal last night—truly the most amazing dining experience we’ve ever had! This gem was recommended by our neighbors when they heard we were heading to the Banner Elk area, and we’re so grateful for their suggestion. First off, the drive down Dobbins to reach the restaurant was scenic and peaceful, a lovely escape from the busy road. Upon arrival, we were captivated by the restaurant’s stunning design; it truly is a work of art, thoughtfully curated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were fortunate enough to hear the incredible story of how Artisanal was built in its new location, which made our experience even more special. Now, let’s talk about the food—three courses of sheer perfection! We had a hard time choosing what to order, but every dish was exquisite. At one point, I turned to my husband and said, “This must be how the people in heaven eat.” This was hands down the best meal I’ve ever had, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. A huge shout out to Chris, who took such great care of us throughout the evening. If you find yourself in the area, don’t miss out on this culinary treasure!

Everything about this experience lived up to our expectations. I had read some reviews that suggested the portion size was minimal however I completely disagree with that statement. I had the tuna tartare starter and it was very generous and absolutely delicious. My daughter had the St. Louis rib starter and loved it, our host had the duck which was beautifully presented and delicious. I chose (with a great deal of difficulty) the bouillabaisse and it was perfection, my daughter enjoyed the 48 hour short ribs and our host had the halibut, everything was outstanding in both presentation and taste. Lots of people have raved about the pimento cheese scones so we tried them and were pleased however we also had the pomme frites and agreed that these were the better of the two options. We all had the chocolate cake/espresso foam and smoked ice cream for dessert, worth the calories without a doubt. Definitely worth the price and we will make this place our special occasion destination.

Amazing experience. Initially was concerned because of the pre-fix menu. But there were many excellent choices. Highly recommended Many wonderful drink options and loved the smoked choices.

Great experience from start to finish. I had the duck and my husband had the calamari for starters. The main course we had Seabass and bouliabase which were also both excellent. We will be going back tomorrow night.

We've eaten at a lot of fine dining restaurants in our life time and this one is one of the best we've been at for a long time. It's situated in a very lovely area of Banner Elk and the drive up to the restaurant is fun. The ambience is impressive. They have a lovely outside dining area and a wine cellar where you would love to spend time. The food is spectacular, the service superb and I would highly recommend. Reservations required and they are only open until October 26 of 2024. We celebrated our anniversary there and it was an event to be remembered for many years to come.

My wife and I had anniversary dinner here. It was a wonderful experience. The food was wonderful and service exceptional. We will be back for our next special event.
