L'Aquavit, primé 2 étoiles par le guide Michelin et 3 étoiles par le New York Times, est situé au centre-ville de Manhattan. Une dévotion de plusieurs décennies à la gastronomie scandinave a valu à cet établissement de Midtown deux étoiles MICHELIN et trois étoiles dans le New York Times. L'intérieur minimaliste au plafond en bois ondulé met en valeur les plats servis dans une vaisselle en terre cuite du plus bel effet. Installez-vous confortablement et savourez les menus dégustation de la cheffe Emma Bengtsson qui revisite avec créativité les classiques nordiques, comme le cabillaud en feuilleté accompagné d'asperges à la sauce Sandefjord, une sauce norvégienne au beurre.

First time eating in the bar area and we really liked it. Felt the service was attentive and we liked ordering a la carte.

I used to come here back in the day early 90s and it was a two hour lunch business lunch. If you know what I mean and it was always wonderful so after 25 years, my friend and I wanted to come back and just check it out and it did not disappoint, it was amazing. We had wanted the flight of Aquivit, but they no longer offered it. I made an excellent choice and the Aquivit was amazing. OP. We had a flight of herring. so delicious. the flavors are extraordinary. The staff was very nice; a little quick, but no worries. We went during lunch in the summer, so it was light. There wasn’t an Amuse-bouche. 😔 But at least they didn’t charge for a bread service. The bread was delicious along with a leek butter, which was superb. My guest and I both had fish. I had king salmon, and she had cod. It was a whisper. If you can understand what I mean by a “whisper”. The fish was perfection. And the dessert was good. it was satisfying. They have a menu of either a two course or a three course, which is very good for the value. I would probably go for the two course next time. I am looking forward to to the next time!! Aquavit has always been one my wife’s favorites. I am happy to have gone there for the first time to celebrate an anniversary with her. It was a great experience!

Aquavit is, as always, just reliably wonderful. The mystery is how chef Emma Bengtsson can so consistently surprise and delight. New items on the bar menu (the bar room is still a quiet haven) included a subtle crab roll in a brioche and tangy-sweet exquisite pappardelle with chanterelles and truffles. The smorgasbord (gravlax, herring, shrimp, perfect small red potatoes) continues to be a treat. And one of the new desserts is an indescribable mint chocolate ice cream cone in a waffle with cherries and tarragon (yes, tarragon). Not for nothing does Aquavit stay in Michelin's good graces year after year. If you haven't been, go — either for the chef's tasting in the main dining room or a simple dinner in the bar room. You won't be disappointed.

Exceptional experience - the food is so well balanced in tastes and textures. Service is excellent: attentive, friendly… we even got some complimentary wines. Highly recommended!

I went to several michelin star restaurants the week I spent in NYC and Aquavit was my favorite. The food was absolutely beautiful and there were a few tastes that blew me away. I’d go back just for the rye bread alone🤣 and I’m not even a bread person. The staff spoiled me. The food, the ambiance and the service felt far more personal and intimate than any of the other 2/3 starred places I went. Stunning!

Great food/service/ambiance. All hard things done well. And then you serve a cold double espresso at the end of the meal... At this level of advertised/expected excellence, this matters.
