Le restaurant Osteria Applausi (applaudissements en italien) est l'un des trois restaurants italiens détenus et exploités par la famille Marchetti dans le comté de Fairfield. Il a ouvert ses portes à Greenwich en 1994. Vous vous y sentirez comme chez vous. Il propose des repas authentiques de la cuisine italienne ne nécessitant que les ingrédients les plus frais, et chaque morceau de viande et de poisson est sélectionné à la main, tandis que Maria fait des pâtes fraîches tous les jours. Si vous souhaitez connaître le vrai goût de l'Italie et être traité comme un membre de la famille, venez à l'Osteria Applausi. Beppe Cornacchia, copropriétaire et gérant du restaurant représente un élément essentiel du restaurant depuis 2002. Avant de gérer l'Applausi, Beppe vécut en Toscane depuis 1985 et travailla dans de nombreux restaurants italiens à succès. Il a apporté sa vision de "La Cucina Italiana" à Fairfield County. Beppe a également organisé la magnifique rénovation de l'Applausi en 2010, le rendant plus métropolitain et lui conférant une touche de New York City à Old Greenwich.

We took my mother in-law and family to celebrate her 87th birthday. The food is very delicious and my mother in-law truly enjoyed her meal. The prices of the entrees are expensive. It became extremely loud as the restaurant became busy. It took a very long time to receive our orders. Our waiter never came by to check if we needed anything. I had to flag the waiter twice to get drink refills. I ordered Grilled shrimp and white beans for an appetizer and the pappardelle with veal ragu as an entree. Both delicious but the chef left the bay leaf and thyme sprigs in the served dish. Any seasoned chef knows to remove these before serving. My mother in-law found a human hair in her dessert. She brought it to the waiter’s attention and they made her a new dessert. I have eaten here several times and never had any issues. We will come back as every restaurant can have an off night. Hopefully, my next experience will be a good one.

We love Applausi so much that we eat there once a week. Last night was no exception to the usual excellence. We both had the special squid in linguine with chopped calamari and cherry tomatoes in a light candy tangy sauce. The service is incomparable and the staff is always so nice and caring. We cannot be our experience at Appausi anywhere else.

As a frequent diner at alApplausi, I am happy to report that over the years the high Make sure you have something to eat quality of the food has not changed. The pasta is homemade. The food is delicious. The fish exquisite and the deserts are beautiful. The service is just outstanding.

Excellent meal. Service a bit spotty and the panna cotta was overcooked but the apps and entrees were outstanding.

Consistently spectacular menu with flawless execution of both old favorites and adventuresome new items in a cozy, comfortable setting, suitable for family dinners, meals with old friends and business entertaining. can't go wrong with any of the specials as well as the classics. The carbonara is to die for. Beppe, Abel and Luis know their regulars well, but never fail to make anew face feel like part of the family. Don't miss this one.
