Ambience downstairs is much more casual (shorts, t-shirts, etc) than upstairs. We ordered brussel sprouts as starter and they were outstanding. I had the grouper dish and can't say I'd order that again. It was so-so. Side of broccolini was so-so. Husband had halibut and enjoyed that. Pecan pie was highly recommended and didn't disappoint.

From the moment we walked in and were greeted, the warmth and coziness of this hidden gem permeated our experience. Leah was our server that was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and professional. We had three different dishes along with she crab soup, Brussels and broccolini, and apple dessert! Exquisite! We will definitely return! Already made another reservation.

Absolutely spectacular meal - start to finish. This is incredibly well prepared food- and so delicious. We had the whole flounder and the pork chop au poivre. And the grits. Mmmmmmm. Everything was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

Anson is our go to on our walk to Gaillard for a concert. We love the elegant upstairs dining room. The drinks, wine and food is always wonderful. Service attentive but never overbearing. Paul took great care of us this evening, timing our meal perfectly so our walk uptown was not rushed and we made it in plenty of time. We shared the very delicious beet/pistachio salad, each had a lobster bucatini and shrimp pasta with Pinot Grigio all was very fresh, well-seasoned and scrumptious. Our desserts were decadent-perfect pecan pie with ice-cream and ice-cream, berries, whipped cream in a waffle cup with chocolate syrup for husband. Of course we will return to this Charleston favorite of ours.

We had a great experience here during our first night in South Carolina. Food was fabulous: flavorful, unique combinations. Enjoyed our time so much. Great atmosphere and wonderful service.

Food was exceptionally good, the waiter was Fantastic!! It was our 50th anniversary and could not have been treated better any where else!!! Highly recommend

Food was very good however it was brought out all together (not appetizers first, then entrees). It was also all brought out 15 minutes after we ordered and it was warm not hot. Odd considering the restaurant wasn't even half full. Felt rushed for no reason.
