Great Indian restaurant in the heart of of unionville. The ambiance on the patio is very nice on a summer day. Food was delicious, especially the lamb and chicken dishes. Authentic Indian food!

We went to the Ambiyan Indian Restaurant in Unionville on Friday for our anniversary dinner. We love the patio and the evening was perfect for outdoor dining. The staff is very attentive and the Indian menu is extensive. For starters we ordered vegetable samosas which were spicy and delicious! For mains we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Korma and both were flavourful and had a decent amount of chicken and veg! It was great to chat with Liam and we're looking forward to returning soon!

Great food! Love spicy chicken and Brie pakora for appetizers. Butter chicken and garlic naan are my favs.

It was a very busy Friday night at Ambiyan but the service was quick and very attentive. They recognized us from previous visits and welcomed us back with a nice table. Food is excellent and we usually go for a chicken dish like tikka masala, a lamb curry dish , and a vegetable one like Chana masala. This is all so we can have leftovers for the next day!

Ambiyan was really good. Ordered a saag chicken and beef vindaloo with garlic naan and other small apps and everything was great.

Okay experience on the patio and service. Patio area is basic but is big and can accommodate a lot of seatings. Did not wait long for food to arrive. We ordered chai tea, vegetable samosa, Brie cheese pakora, butter chicken, beef mushroom curry, vegan aloo gobi, saffron basmati rice, garlic naan, and raita. Everything was delicious! Over priced though. At the time of dining, Unionville had a street festival and they participated with a tent in front of their restaurant selling food. They charged us $9 for 2 samosas but it was $5 at the tent. Same size samosas. We paid almost double the price with the difference of them being served on a platter with 2 sauces. Totally not worth $9! They were not crowded on the patio and the indoor dining was practically empty. Maybe because of the festival. The only good thing about this restaurant is its location! Unionville is a lovely area especially during spring/summer/fall season. I would recommend it if you want to try an Indian cuisine in Unionville and wish to take in the scenary of the surroundings of Unionville before or after your meal. However, there are other restaurants that have nicer outdoor and indoor sceneries like Next Door and Il Postino.
