The Castlefield Rooms offer a boutique, out of the ordinary, venue in central Manchester, in a stunning position within a conservation area on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal. With a superb location in Manchester City Centre, near all major transport links, complimentary on site parking and the highest levels of service and cuisine, the Castlefield Rooms are the perfect venue to hold your wedding, corporate event or party. We offer a choice of three contrasting spaces for anything from 25 to 250 guests together with a range of competitively priced event packages. The versatility of the spaces is also reflected in the variety of menus available from the acclaimed kitchens of Albert’s Shed Restaurant and Dukes 92 which are located on the same site as The Castlefield Rooms. Whichever space you decide on you will have our dedicated Events Team on hand to ensure the smooth and efficient running of your event.

We have been to Albert Shed many times, with this being the first occasion that we have left being less than satisfied. We opted as usual for the Sharing Sunday Lunch. Food arrived warm, with the Yorkshire pudding less so along with the cauliflower cheese.Adding the gravy reduced the temperature of the food still further. Our server was asked if we could get some hot gravy as we told her the food was barely warm. She said no problem. We continued to eat our meal waiting for the gravy to stop it going stone cold. 15mins later the server returned, but still no hot gravy, she had obviously forgot. We left approximately 30% of the cold food, paid and left. At £72 for a Sunday lunch and one drink each it’s not cheap. The food is normally great, yesterday not so much. Disappointing.

We were told at the end of our meal, as we paid, that they were understaffed. This does partly explain our underwhelming experience and I understand how challenging running a place on a Saturday with little staff can be. However, it did feel like we were completely forgotten about, which left us sitting there for 30+ minutes between arriving and getting an order in, finishing the starters and having them cleared, and our mains and asking for the bill. The food was also not what i was expecting as someone with dietary requirements, as the ‘vegan options available’ were very different to what the menu said (a cheese and onion pie was actually a chickpea and squash pie). I ended up only being able to eat a beyond burger which felt like a spoons meal. As it was our anniversary and we felt so let down throughout the night, I felt leaving a review was necessary.

Not great sadly, ignored by staff for most of the visit. Took ages to receive our ordered drinks. When booking they asked whether it was for a special occasion and it was our wedding anniversary. There was no point asking that question as it wasn’t mentioned!! had the service been more efficient we would have ordered more drinks. Couldn’t fault the quality of the food though.

Dined here for Lunch with 2 Friends from Birmingham. We had the 3 Course Set Menu which offered excellent choice and exceptional quality of food at a very reasonable price.

Met friends fir lunch - we all had the £14.95 two course special which was lovely. Staff were great & did not rush us out. Been many times & will definitely return.
