Le restaurant-bar d'Albert est le nouvel acteur très attendu de la scène culinaire de West Didsbury. Ce nouveau restaurant constitue la seconde ouverture d'Albert, petit frère du Albert's Shed à Castlefield, dans le centre-ville de Manchester. Le nouvel espace, qui a été créé sur l'ancien site du pub Barleycorn sur Barlow Moor Road à Didsbury, vise à offrir au sud de Manchester un espace de repas moderne et soigné doté d'une salle à manger pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 160 personnes en intérieur mais aussi 60 personnes sur sa fabuleuse terrasse extérieure idéale pour manger en plein air l'été. Le menu est d'influence moderne britannique et doté d'un mélange éclectique de classiques du monde entier et de spécialités d'Albert. Chaque plat est exclusivement basé sur des ingrédients frais et locaux. Le restaurant est ouvert 7 jours par semaine pour le dîner et le souper, et ce qui constitue une première pour Albert, offre un menu brunch complet les samedi et dimanches.

I have been to Albert's in Didsbury on many occasions. It was my birthday today and I think I have celebrated it there for the past 5 years. I love the decoration, ambience and service...usually. Our experience today: Menu change - no fish and chips. Even the waitress commented that she could not understand why one of the most popular dishes had been taken off the menu The food was ok and hot but the portion sizes had dramatically and noticeably reduced but the prices had gone up. The service was poor, we had asked twice for hot water but it didn't arrive so we went to the bar ourselves. We had to wait a considerable time for the waitress to ask us if we wanted drinks even though there were only 3 other tables eating. The staff were not attentive and talking between themselves. They didn't ask us if we wanted more drinks. We had to go to the till to ask for the bill. Customer service was poor. One of the waitresses had a big stain on her very discoloured blouse. There was no ambience as it was so quiet, it was a Tuesday evening but I have never seen it so quiet.

Food is was only lukewarm warm , they ran out of lamb also . Not normally like this.

Albert's Didsbury is an excellent and consistent restaurant. The food is always delicious and the service attentive without being intrusive. The staff are very well trained and friendly and the atmosphere is warm with an upbeat vibe.

Came for our anniversary and food was 1 hour late! And no one came to tell us food would be late. Good good terrible service. What a shame

Really disappointed with the service. Had to wait an hour and a half for our meal. Very apologetic but that’s not enough in my opinion. Won’t be rushing back

We were a group of 8, 6 adults 2 children, who were belatedly celebrating my daughters birthday. when first seated I thought we would be a little cramped but it was fine. My granddaughter loved the whole making her own pizza before it was cooked for her to eat. My daughter was presented with a birthday cake which was a lovely touch. The staff go above and beyond to meet all your needs with a smile on their face. The manager was very visible and stopped by our table to say hello and take some pics. The food was perfect for all everyone was very happy with their choice. I would absolutely eat here again and recommend to my friends. Only thing I felt should be made clear is the 10% discretionary charge added to the bill ( you can ask for this to be taken off), I am aware a lot of restaurants do this but there were a couple on our table that didn't realise. I think this should be pointed out in some way before the bill is paid and it left to the customer to decide if they want to add a tip, which we did.

I apologise if you found the inclusion of a discretionary service charge unclear. It is noted on all of our menus, the policy card that comes with your bill, and on the bill itself. Of course, as you have noted, it is completely discretionary, and will always be removed at request! I hope this didn't detract too much from your experience with us.

I’ve never had a bad dining experience here, I usually take my elderly mother who is never short of a criticism, she loves going to Albert’s. Top marks from the food to the service, a lovely experience., excellent.
