Le restaurant-bar d'Albert est le nouvel acteur très attendu de la scène culinaire de West Didsbury. Ce nouveau restaurant constitue la seconde ouverture d'Albert, petit frère du Albert's Shed à Castlefield, dans le centre-ville de Manchester. Le nouvel espace, qui a été créé sur l'ancien site du pub Barleycorn sur Barlow Moor Road à Didsbury, vise à offrir au sud de Manchester un espace de repas moderne et soigné doté d'une salle à manger pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 160 personnes en intérieur mais aussi 60 personnes sur sa fabuleuse terrasse extérieure idéale pour manger en plein air l'été. Le menu est d'influence moderne britannique et doté d'un mélange éclectique de classiques du monde entier et de spécialités d'Albert. Chaque plat est exclusivement basé sur des ingrédients frais et locaux. Le restaurant est ouvert 7 jours par semaine pour le dîner et le souper, et ce qui constitue une première pour Albert, offre un menu brunch complet les samedi et dimanches.

Front of house was a little bit curt. We arrived a few minutes early for our table and was told it wasn’t ready. Although we were eventually sat at a table that was vacant when we walked through the door. She wasn’t really interested in getting us seated. Guiseppi, our server was great again. Each time he serves us he is so attentive and helpful. Such a friendly and polite young man. He is a tremendous credit to Alberts DidSbury.

Another great experience at Alberts. The Pepperoni Pizza was exceptional.

It was our first visit to Albert’s and it was a fantastic experience the staff were friendly and really informative. The food was delicious and I would recommend the Malayan Chicken it was just Devine! The cocktails were very well made too.

Very relaxing atmosphere. We had the two course option, good value for money. The service as ever was friendly unobtrusive, unobtrusive and efficient

A disappointing birthday meal! The ambience was lovely upon arrival (6.45-7pm). Drinks were relatively quick to arrive upon each order however food took 1.5 hours for a few starters and mains and service became slower as it got busier. Most of the party enjoyed their meals however my partner and I ordered the sharer fillet, medium rare. It came practically well done, cold, a tiny amount of dauphinoise potatoes, a few beans and the chips were terrible. We did immediately notify the manager that it was unacceptable, she was very apologetic and attentive and offered us a new steak (which could take another 10-15 minutes), we opted to eat what we had however my partner ate practically nothing and I had the meat and left the rest. I received a complimentary gluten free birthday desert, and our steak was removed off the bill alongside a bottle of wine, the dessert and a glass of fizz. I really appreciated the attentiveness and kindness of the manager, and would like to think perhaps this was just a one-off. However the portion size of the meat and sides, and the quality and taste of the steak was totally not worth £82, where you can pay less for double the size at Piccolinos or Con Club (Altrincham) for example. Overall, my party had a better experience than myself and disappointing as it was my birthday. I’m hoping the restaurant takes the feedback on board and that we can visit in future and have a better experience. All the staff were wonderful throughout.

Wonderful place, ambience, service, food and value, but.... whilst the food was spectacularly delicious, it way very luke warm. I don't expect my lunch to arrive at the table as if straighr out of a kiln, but both courses were, to my taste, pretty cool, even, I might say, cold . Had I not been in an important business meeting, I would have sent both courses back. Other than that, which to be honest, is fundamental to my own personal enjoyment, the meal was very pleasant.

Good value mid week dining. Food was nice and not too over facing. Spent the evening with friends and we could easily chat and hear each other without h blaring music in the background.
