Le restaurant-bar d'Albert est le nouvel acteur très attendu de la scène culinaire de West Didsbury. Ce nouveau restaurant constitue la seconde ouverture d'Albert, petit frère du Albert's Shed à Castlefield, dans le centre-ville de Manchester. Le nouvel espace, qui a été créé sur l'ancien site du pub Barleycorn sur Barlow Moor Road à Didsbury, vise à offrir au sud de Manchester un espace de repas moderne et soigné doté d'une salle à manger pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 160 personnes en intérieur mais aussi 60 personnes sur sa fabuleuse terrasse extérieure idéale pour manger en plein air l'été. Le menu est d'influence moderne britannique et doté d'un mélange éclectique de classiques du monde entier et de spécialités d'Albert. Chaque plat est exclusivement basé sur des ingrédients frais et locaux. Le restaurant est ouvert 7 jours par semaine pour le dîner et le souper, et ce qui constitue une première pour Albert, offre un menu brunch complet les samedi et dimanches.

Very slow kitchen service . We ordered the vegan roast and were very disappointed. Tofu starter was ridiculously salty. Really not impressed with the food unfortunately. Also was my partners birthday which I wrote on the reservation but no acknowledgement was given

Breakfast booked for the last 11.45 slot Rude staff Cold food Egg Benedict hard Tip of 10% automatically included in the bill truly not deserved. Happy to leave 15% even in a coffee shack when happy with service.

Only criticism was how messy it was on the floor under the table. Looked like a chimps tea party. Carlos is a star. So professional and attentive. Thank you young man.

Service was fine, and meal was lovely. The swordfish entree I had was one of best mains I've had in a long time.

The quality of food was quite standard. I had meatballs for starters & the steak with skinny fries for a main. The meatballs were nice but sauce quite bland. The steak wasn’t amazing. The garlic butter on top lacked flavour and made the steak greasy. It wasn’t succulent. I had nicer steaks elsewhere. The restaurant was very lovely, this may be the reason why I had better expectations for the food. The staff were pleasant but would I come back? Probably not… If you’re reading this wanting recommendations, definitely Gotham in Manchester. Steak cooked to perfection!

One of the best date nights we've had in a while. The staff were really attentative, drinks were nice and the Fillet was cooked to perfection. Specific shout out to the "nibbles" - the flat bread was ridiculously good. Solid 10/10 experience.

Dined outside under the glass roof with the infra red heaters. Cannot fault any aspect of our dining experience. Our waitress is very Amy able. (Very apt name) and always has a smile. Nothing is too much trouble.
