Le restaurant-bar d'Albert est le nouvel acteur très attendu de la scène culinaire de West Didsbury. Ce nouveau restaurant constitue la seconde ouverture d'Albert, petit frère du Albert's Shed à Castlefield, dans le centre-ville de Manchester. Le nouvel espace, qui a été créé sur l'ancien site du pub Barleycorn sur Barlow Moor Road à Didsbury, vise à offrir au sud de Manchester un espace de repas moderne et soigné doté d'une salle à manger pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 160 personnes en intérieur mais aussi 60 personnes sur sa fabuleuse terrasse extérieure idéale pour manger en plein air l'été. Le menu est d'influence moderne britannique et doté d'un mélange éclectique de classiques du monde entier et de spécialités d'Albert. Chaque plat est exclusivement basé sur des ingrédients frais et locaux. Le restaurant est ouvert 7 jours par semaine pour le dîner et le souper, et ce qui constitue une première pour Albert, offre un menu brunch complet les samedi et dimanches.

    Alberts is far better than Picolinos where I have experienced poor quality multiple times so I now go to Alberts instead. Alberts food is really tasted well cooked well presented. Engaging staff. Downside is the tables are packed in tightly it feels like the person on the next table is almost on yours. Music in the background could be quieter so that it was easier to hear (I am not in my 70s 80s with a hearing aid if I was I would not be going here) Parking is quite limited doubt there is much Alberts can do about it. Gluten free options are excellent.

    We do visit regularly however haven’t in the last 6 months and all i can say is the food and service had declined unfortunately. The staff seem really layed back and the drinks service is not acceptable taking a long time to reach the table. The lunch time menu was awful smaller portions and the dessert portion for a child . Wont be returning as i feel its not value for money.

    Four friends visited for Sunday Lunch. The food was overall great, we all really enjoyed. We are picky eaters and like good food and we would definitely come back for Sunday Dinner and would recommend. A few tiny areas they could improve. 3 very small roast potatoes is not enough -this was a real let down on the meal. Only three but really small also so essentially like only one potato -it's not enough. One member of the group is vegetarian so had a cheese and onion pie. She said it was lovely and came with a very tasty cheese sauce and she commented it was the best cheese sauce she had tasted. The meal also came with a pea puree which she said although tasted nice she couldn't eat it as it was cold -she said this would be much better warm. Finially the puddings we had were lovely however we were all disappointed that the sticky toffee pudding didn't come with custard. We asked it we could have it instead but was advised this wasn't possible. 3 out of 4 of our group wanted the sticky toffee pudding but not without custard so we had to opt for other options. It's a shame they don't offer both. But overall it was a nice dinning experience and the food was tasty and we would visit again.

Please be assured if you are ever dissatisfied with your meal we will do whatever we can to remedy this if made aware - we could certainly have provided some more potatoes! Unfortunately we do not have custard on our menu, so this is not something we can offer. I am pleased you enjoyed your overall experience and am glad to hear you will be returning!

    We had a really great afternoon at Albert’s yesterday, food was delicious the table service was good. The only dissatisfaction was the service at the bar, we moved from the table to the bar and had to ask for service 3 times. When I approached what seemed to be the bar manager to order he didn’t seem to show interest and we had to ask again! Saying that we’ll be back :0)

I'm not quite sure who it was that you will have spoken to, as our bar manager was not working on Saturday! I assure you that any manager would have addressed your requests right away, but I am very sorry that our bar staff seem to have fallen short on this occasion.     Andy was great he worked the table well. Food came 45 mins after ordering they were lukewarm. My plate had items missing I had to ask for them. My son ordered the platter. It was really small for £37. I wouldn’t say order again. I keep hoping Albert’s will get back to what it once was and it isn’t. We go as it’s easy to get dad and his wheelchair in but the service was slow. I had to ask to pay three times before they came. I just feel that the quality has reduced and who is checking plates off before they go out. It’s a shame I used to love going here

    I have been coming to Albert's for years. I swear thw protons are so much smaller on the waely bird menu. I have eaten on the early bird on many occasions. Most times I would probably only have 2 courses and be fine. On this occasion I had 3 , we ate about 4.30 by the time the food came . We stayed and had drinks outside as it was a beautiful day. By 8.30pm we were ordering bar food as we were hungry .. There only giving food a 3 .

    Service wasn’t good . Ordered food and it took forever to come. When asked how long it was going to be they said it’s the chicken it takes a while to cook !! It was a chicken breast !! Then when asked for the bill it was put on the table and the waitress walked off. Then waited ages again to get the waiter to come over to pay ,

    We chose from the 2-course lunch menu which is very good value and the food is always reliable - in our particular case, the steak frites followed by chocolate cheesecake and seabass followed by yuzu sorbet with grilled pineapple.
