Upon entering Oliveto we were ignored by the first young person who started to tidy up menus, a blonde haired female who was most unfriendly and unwelcoming shouted "Name" this attitude did not improve when being shown to our table. Service was slow and unenthusiastic however when the food was served it was tasty. There was no ambience and we found ourselves whispering as we could hear other guests sitting nearby conversations. There were dirty glasses covering the top of the bar yet it was quiet with only approx 30 diners . This restaurant has the most beautiful setting with fabulous views over Weymouth Bay it is a real shame this restaurant is so poorly run and managed it could be brilliant.

This was a celebration meal for my friend and I completing the Jurassic coast section of the SWCP. The food we ate was good and the service was spot on. We had a late dining slot which meant towards the end of the meal, we were the last table occupied, which made our experience a little quiet but we would return again.

Food was very average I couldn't recommend it to my friends. Management was poor our waitress was good.

I don't normally give a bad review but I feel like I had to do this, if only to get the management to understand that their staff need to grow up and learn proper service. Booked a table for 6:45pm yesterday which was a Thursday evening. We arrived at 6:40pm and told them we had a reservation we asked if we could sit by the window and were told that they were booked by people who had made reservations weeks in advance and that all the other tables in the restaurant were booked. Fair enough. We were sat down and were asked if we wanted water and I said yes table water. While waiting for the waitress to ask for our order I counted how many tables were empty near us....10 tables. The place was nearly empty. We ordered drinks I asked for a gingerale (because I was driving) and my wife asked for a wine, and my adult son who is autistic wanted a hot chocolate. When I ordered my son the hot chocolate the waitress looked stunned. My wife and I thought she was being judgemental. She never came back. She never ever made eye contact with us. We never got the table water, or our drinks order. She never took our food order. She did however manage to take the food order of a table near us who came in after us. We were sat at the table at 6:43pm until 7:15pm when we left. 30 minutes and not even water to drink. We got up and told the waitresses (there was about 4 or 5 young waitresses at the bar) that we were leaving, and that no one came and we didn't even get a drink. They just looked at each other and laughed. Horrible service. Staff made us feel like they didn't want us in there.

Food was excellent, portion sizes were just average. Our server was working as hard as she could but on arrival we waited eighteen minutes before a drink order was taken.

The waitresses were great, really friendly. Please give them plenty of credit, especially the young ones, they were really accommodating and professional. The bruschetta southern Italy unfortunately just tasted of burnt toast and I was expecting a proper burrata instead of a couple of small chunks of it. But the main was excellent, think it was spaghetti pomodori. So good, please don’t change a thing on that front. The salmon penne was also fantastic. Also, I don’t know why people are asked if it’s a special occasion when booking because it didn’t make any difference, it wasn’t mentioned at all, let alone a lil glass of Prosecco or something as a nice gesture. Other restaurants make a bit more effort on that front. Overall, lovely time.

Absolutely top restaurant Lovely friendly efficient staff Food was superb Stunning views of the sea , cove and sand Really crisp linen and very clean and tidy restaurant Thoroughly recommend a visit here Great value for money One of the best Negronis I’ve had in England !! Thank you

We were in town for the seafood festival so booked here for Friday night. As it is above the arcade we weren't sure but we definitely weren't disappointed. Service was friendly and efficient. When I asked what was in the cocktails a nice lady whose name I didn't get came out and explained them all. The Bellini was delicious, as was the chicken I had and the ravioli my husband had . He also had mussels to start and I had Affogato for dessert. All gorgeous
