Using local produce with the finest Italian ingredients the restaurant prides itself on quality food with a difference in a venue which provides an amazing setting. Respecting the building's origins as part of the piers bandstand the restaurant's decor nods to the past incorporating art deco features together with modern design. We were put in a busy side room having booked a week ahead to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My mussel starter was of poor quality shellfish and covered in a very strong sauce. My main (steak/chips) was expensive and very average quality. We were made aware from moment one they were fully booked so don’t know if that’s why our food was as it was.

Booked a table for my wife’s birthday. On arrival the restaurant had 3 tables with couples on. Was shown to the table which was situated next to the entrance, I asked if I could be moved to a different table “NO”.. We had our drinks and stated we would be leaving, we paid the £32 for 4 drinks and left. I will add that the authentic Italian did not have one Italian front of house… I can’t comment on the food as I didn’t have any, the drinks are very over priced, the restaurant itself looked nice, the views look great but mine was of a staircase and the structural pillar. The staff seem friendly enough but couldn’t see my point of being seated in the door way. I booked 3 days in advance. We did manage to get seated at ENZO’s across the road, which was very GOOD. I would highly recommend ENZO’s if you’re looking for Italian cuisine.

Not a massive selection, only one special. Portion sizes small. Service was excellent however.

Beautiful looking restaurant. Food was amazing. Staff need a little training as they did not tell us the specials before we ordered and just butted in while we were talking instead of saying sorry to interrupt. Smaller menu but still good food.

Dinner booked for my partner’s 40th birthday. We had a table overlooking the sea as per request - what a treat it was! Friendly and engaging staff, excellent food. Mussels and ribeye steak cooked to perfection, bruschetta crispy and pasta al dente as it should be. Wonderful touch with the desserts - a happy birthday song for my somewhat embarrassed partner - lovely gesture. The only issue (however a very minor one) was the french fries looking like frozen from the bag - I’d rather expect home made ones in a place like this. Having said that, there’s a choice of virgin cocktails which was a nice touch for a non-drinker as myself. I’d recommend to anyone as we had a great time - thank you Oliveto!

First time at the restaurant - such helpful staff particularly the owner who bent over backwards to accommodate to our needs. Flexible with food options which we wanted to modify to our fussy tastes!! Good value, well presented and with gorgeous views over the sea

We have been coming to this restaurant for 11yrs and the food never lets it down. It’s nice to see some of the new areas that have been opened up too. The only thing that is a slight grumble was the service. Our server was very polite but a couple of niggles were 1. We had to chase our wine as it didn’t appear until the main course’s arrived 2. We had to chase an after dinner drink as that didn’t appear either 3. We paid the bill, but we’re still sat with some water and a drink, but the server just came and cleared everything away without asking if we had finished, luckily I had hold of my drink so salvaged that. We will come again next year because the food is so good, but the service needs a bit more concentration.

Waitress was new. And it showed. She should have been shadowed. Had no knowledge of allergies. I asked for GF. She kept offering lactose free With better service and knowledge it would been a lovely evening.

Really enjoyable visit to Oliveto last night. They brought our dog a bowl of water when we arrived which was nice. Food, service, and ambience all great. Highly recommend.
