Al and Alma’s Supper Club was founded in 1956 by Al and Alma Quist. During the day Al was a firefighter and the Mayor of Island Park, at night he cooked the best food on the lake! His idea of creating a dining destination worth making a trip for propelled a lasting history as Lake Minnetonka's longest operating restaurant. Open for dinner only, today's modern restaurant embraces recipes that have spanned three generations. The term "Supper Club" embraces our past but requires no membership! Hand cut steaks, slow cooked BBQ ribs, famous campstyle walleye and homemade desserts accompany modern American fare and delightful nightly specials including fresh ocean fish. Join us out on Phelps Island; you'll be glad you did!

It was our first time to Al & Alma’s. Have know about this restaurant for years but never got there. Was looking for something on the west side of town. Liking the old school supper club atmosphere this certainly fit the bill with a little more updated feel. We throughly enjoyed our meal, the ambiance and intimacy of the restaurant. Nice variety of meal selections to suit your appetite. We intend to go back in the winter if not before. We will add to our favorites list!

Recently we had the same meal and it was a 9/10 amazing. I couldn’t wait to go back. This time, it was very mediocre. I think it was due to a later reservation and on a Friday. Felt like we got “what was left in the kitchen.” Smaller portions, less desirable items, not fresh, overcooked, baked potato was literally burned on the outside and cold/hard inside. Will go on a weekday and earlier next time.

This was my first time dining at Al and Alma’s restaurant, though I had been in one of their dinner cruises before. Our server, Elisa, was outstanding. She had great recommendations and was very attentive. The food was amazing, and the ambiance was lovely. Will definitely be returning soon!

Excellent food and attentive service. Great evening!! There was a discrepancy in the wine on the menu and what was brought to the table. This shouldn’t happen, but guessing it does.

A long way to drive for mediocrity. Although the ambience was good and the service exceptional, our drinks were terrible, with little to no taste. The food was well priced but not for the quality delivered.

Al & Alma's is Lake Minnetonka's (somewhat hidden) gem! Always a great experience from dock to table side! The staff and service are exceptional and the food consistent and delicious! Thank you, Jenna, Jay and the entire team.
