Superb food, forgettable, somewhat impersonal service. Table was a bit short on space too.

Lackluster experience with passable food. Most dishes missed the mark. Hard to justify the prices. Survives on its past reputation and proximity to the Opera and Symphony.

I took three people, two of whom were from out of town, and both of whom had never been there. They were blown away. Of particular note, the tomato and watermelon salad was divine, as was the cheese course we ordered as appetizers. I must also mention our server, Ethan was spectacular. He made us feel welcome, and attended to our every need with kindness and efficiency.

We had requested a window table in advance and were given the perfect table overlooking the street scene. Our waiter greeted us with two glasses of sparkling rosé to celebrate our anniversary. He was very attentive and cheerful and recommended unique cocktails for us to try. The watermelon salad was fresh and a perfect start and then I had the mushroom pasta which was delicious and full of subtle flavors. Not too big a portion. My husband ordered the hamburger which was huge. He said it was delicious, but wished he had ordered something in a smaller quantity. The place is beautiful and we were able to walk to our SF Jazz performance nearby easily. We love this little gem.

Never disappoints. Food and service are always outstanding. Jack is terrific! Our waiter Matthew was great.

Perfect place to dine before the SF symphony! We enjoyed our entrées and will return if we ever have tickets to a performance in the area again.

We enjoyed the proximity to the opera house and the shops in the area. The ambiance in the restaurant was fine, old-school, competent, and friendly. The carrots with labneh cheese as an appetizer was a good choice, fresh, and a good flavor combination. The sole with potato puree was quite good, perhaps a little too salty. But, the duck confit salad with mushrooms and frisee was almost inedible. There was so much very smoky, very very salty, thick-cut bacon in the dish that you could not taste what duck or mushrooms were there. The bacon vinaigrette was very greasy and ruined the frisee. All I could taste was salt and grease. I would eat here again, but I would not order the duck confit salad.
