Abalonetti Bar and Grill is one of the original restaurants on Monterey's Historic Fisherman's Wharf. Famous for Monterey calamari, we now feature more than 20 different preparations from local squid processed in-house. With ample ocean views, the Wharf's largest waterfront pet-friendly patio, a full bar, cocktail menu and local wine list, Abalonetti has been a favorite of locals for decades, providing a fun and casual waterfront dining experience.

Always good. It’s our go to place in Monterey. We always enjoy the food and the staff is always friendly.

I highly recommend Abalonetti Bar & Grill! We were there with a group of (12) and the waiter handled our group and orders so well. He did an amazing job taking care of us. And the food was excellent! I would go back.

This was one of the few places that didn’t have someone yelling at you to come inside and eat at. We were seated promptly. Food was very good. We ate the calamari, crab cakes, shrimp and fries, clam chowder. Crab cakes were my favorite of all. They gave us a sundae on the house for celebrating our 6th anniversary there. My only complaint was that there was no music or anything other than customers speaking. It would be too quiet at moments.

We were traveling with our small dog, so we needed a restaurant that was dog friendly. Albonetti was great, and we were able to sit on their protected patio with a heat lamp on us (we ate there in January 2025). Our server was very kind and an excellent server. Food was very good with lots of great options. Our dog had already eaten, but they even have a doggie menu.

This is normally a good restaurant, but we unfortunately didn’t have a great experience. We came on New Year’s Day with a group of 11, but had made reservations so it was easy enough to be seated. We sat outside because we were with a dog, they have heaters along the edge, but it would be great if there were some standing heaters so the people further in could be warm. We all ordered drinks and then the problem came. This restaurant is known for their calamari, but they were out of all squid, fish for fish and chips, crab except for whole crabs, mussels, and a few other things. I think if they’d told us that at the door it would have been one thing but not telling us until after the drink order went in that’s large portion of their menu, including all the specials we’d been told, was a bit frustrating. 2/3 of the group downed their drinks and left. We stayed for chowder, and a couple easy things off the kids menu, which were fine but definitely not the calamari we came for. My advice is, call ahead and make sure they have the ingredients for what you want.

Our fifth year in a row having Christmas Eve dinner at Abalonetti’s. Delicious as always with exceptional customer service and a damn fine Long Island ice tea. Scampi was amazing!

This is fhe first time my family visited Abalonetti Bar and Grill, and we liked it. The food was delishious, and the service was spotless. I especially liked the oysters with pesto, and my husband liked the crusted rockfish. My mother enjoyed her angel hair pasta, too. On the flip side, they have only four deserts on the menu and tiramisu is not one of them. They do not have espresso, either. Very disappointing. I recommend this restaurant for its great location, delicious food and the friendly and professional service.
