Founded in 1995, a tavola is one of the city’s best restaurants, bringing Chicago an intimate and authentic dining experience. At a tavola the emphasis is, appropriately, on the food. Authentic dishes from Italian regions are re-created using Italian cooking methods and the finest imported Italian products.

a tavola is the culmination of professional cooking experience by Daniel Bocik, a versatile chef from Chicago, who brings back home the knowledge and experience of an education at the California Culinary Academy and the finest restaurants of San Francisco, Paris, and Milan. To ensure the freshest food at a tavola, fresh fruits and vegetables are selected from a local organic farmer, meats and seafood are personally selected by Chef Dan from local markets.

Disappointed that could not order off the full menu but instead had a prefix Valentine’s Day menu when it wasn’t even Valentine’s Day yet

My wife and I went to A Tavola about 15 years ago. We were happy to see that the quality of the food and the coziness of the space remain unchanged. A must go to place for authentic northern Italian food in Chicago for sure.

Waitstaff was amazing and I believe my waitress was named Ebba and she was so sweet and knowledgeable

A Tavola is just a lovely place to dine. Guests can speak to each other in a normal voice a be heard easily. Staff is well trained and very gracious. Food is prepared and presented beautifully. We cannot overstate the warmth and friendliness. We look forward to dining there whenever we are in Chicago.

There was not one bite that wasn’t excellent! The restaurant week menu had all of their top dishes, they were full-sized portions and tasted amazing. Mushroom appe is something special. Best focaccia. First time having their desserts (chocolate option & baked apple option) and OMG were they delicious!

Everything we ordered was amazing. Short ribs were so tender, they fell apart. The Mushroom is a must for appetizer. The staff did not rush us out so we could enjoy a long visit with our guests during a great meal

We had an amazing night at A Tavola. It felt you walked into a private dinner party when you stepped into the restaurant. The ambience is intimate, romantic and quiet. The food is amazingly delicious and authentic. The staff is super friendly. We enjoyed the conversation with them. It is truly a hidden gym. We will definitely go back for more.

A Tavola is a special restaurant for us over the last 4-5 years. Last nights visit lived up to all the ones in the past that have us love dining at A Tavola. Jose, Ava and Tim make are wonderful hosts creating a very nice evening.
