Another great meal and the value of Restaurant Week. Loved the squash soup and bolognese. A surprising ending was the “ Girl Scout Caramel Coconut Cookie” drink w coconut rum, caramel and cocoa. Delicious

80 Thoreau is our go to restaurant for special occasions. We dined here again during Restaurant Week, and had an excellent meal and dining experience. 80 Thoreau consistently delivers inventive food that is beautifully prepared and presented. The service is attentive without being overbearing. We never feel rushed here. Food was brought out hot and in a timely manner. It is always above the ordinary. The Restaurant Week menu provides a 3 course meal with a varied selection of appetizers, main courses and desserts. We began with a salad, and grilled shrimp with paprika, bacon and polenta. It was perfectly cooked and bedded in a light sauce, a very good beginning. These were followed by roasted Hake, with parsley crumb, potato and grain mustard. The other dish was herbed marinated chicken breast with mushroom sauce, and brussel sprouts. We added a side of the roast potatoes, a perfect addition. The portions were satisfying, given the 3 course meal. For dessert, we had coconut sorbet and cocoa butter brownie with banana chantilly. The sorbet was a perfect ending to cleanse the palate, and the chocolate brownie was a generous portion, not too sweet. In all a delightful experience. Cannot wait to return.

The food was creative and delicious. One of the best meals I've had in a fine dining restaurant. Service was excellent, wine yummy and everyone was just very accommodating and professional.

Not a lot of taste to the raw scallops or the cod dish. Steak and strawberry dishes very good. Service was great.

We had the pleasure of eating the Valentine’s Day tasting menu at 80 Thoreau last night. Everything was amazing — the drinks, the food, the service, the ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, as we always do. One of our favorite restaurants, hands down.

I have to say the entire experience was lovely. It is much more than I would expect for a suburban fine dining (ish) experience. All the dishes were spot on in delivery, flavour, plating and size. The wine was quite good (the Willamette Gamey) and the decaf at the end was fresh as well. In comparison to the mainstream offerings in the area, you are paying 1.5x the price for 5x the experience.
