This is the only reliable brunch place in Blacksburg, other than the Inn at Va Tech, (which is way more elaborate than I want). There is plenty of variety in the brunch menu, and I am usually happy with my choice. I have to say the Bloody Marys are always perfect! This is why we keep coming back. Just wish you'd get some nice crisp potato wedges, instead of those awful shriveled cubes you keep serving.

Unfortunately my steak came out well done when the server told me that the chef suggested it medium rare and I affirmed that is how I would like it. They took it away and my guests had all finished their meals so I asked them to please not bring a new one since it was already well past time. We then ordered after dinner drinks and again, mine was absent. The server profusely apologized but again people were wrapping up conversations and the prospect of waiting to quickly drink a port was not my idea of a good time so I asked them to not bring my drink. The server bore the brunt of this and never did a manager come over and express their dismay or disappointment with the way we were served. I have been coming here for business dinners because it is one of the only places open on Monday's. We will not be doing this ever again and I will make sure that as a company we do not ever set foot in this establishment again. The service was lacking the food usually mediocre and the environment is not anything special. If it is a Monday you may not have anywhere else to go, but if it is another day of the week you have choices.

Yummy big early lunch before the game. Loved the fried green tomato/pimento cheese on sourdough. Tyler was an excellent waiter.

The Thai grits special was very dry and cold. In addition, there was a hair in my food. I would have complained, but I was with guests and did not want to come off as a "complainer." The ravioli was also not particularly good.

622 North has a fantastic and ecletic menu with an extensive wine and beer selection. We especially like the wine flights to introduce ourselves to wine varieties. There are so many beers, too. One night we explored beers and the next night we explored wines. Whenever we visit Virginia Tech we always stop here for dinner. Reservations are highly recommended during VA Tech events like move-in, move-out, and graduation.

The chicken cordon blue was tasty but way too much sodium. I wasn’t able to drink enough water after my meal to hydrate. I would suggest altering the recipe a bit. The coating was also more crunchy than I would expect. My husband had the salmon which was good but the farro was not to his liking.

We had people in from out of town, and Ray was our server. One person had wings with no sauce, and she was really pleased with them (done sous vide!). She was concerned they wouldn't be crispy enough, but they indeed were. Two of us had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked, and both were well pleased. I chose the duck (I love duck anyway) because it came with the crispy brussels sprouts. I loved the little spray of shredded carrots, and the mashed potatoes were lovely. They always do duck here so well! Of course the brussels sprouts were delicious; the only thing that could have improved was if there had been MORE of them. I was sad to say goodbye to my favorite server at 622: Alex. We wish him well in the Big City!
