Se joindre aux convives du 59 Almshouse est le gage d'une excellente soirée. Que ce soit un mardi en famille, un rendez-vous galant du vendredi soir ou encore simplement un samedi à prendre un verre entre amis, cet établissement se vante d'avoir tous les ingrédients pour un bon moment! Les clients peuvent apprécier un spectacle de musique ou regarder une joute sportive dans la superbe salle principale dotée d'un plafond de 24 pieds et de magnifiques poutres en bois naturel. Le bar offre une grande variété d'alléchants cocktails ainsi que 20 sortes de bières. Le tout bien sûr, en profitant du spectacle. Pour les clients qui préfèrent être à l'extérieur, il leur est possible de profiter d'un 5 à 7 sur la terrasse. Pour ceux qui veulent s'asseoir pour déguster un repas, on peut le faire confortablement dans la chaleureuse salle à manger principale. La grande vedette du menu ici est un hamburger maison cuit sur grill, au-dessus d'un feu de bois. Mais ce n'est pas tout, il est possible d'y trouver aussi de la haute cuisine américaine comme nulle part ailleurs. À ne pas manquer! Bref, les possibilités sont infinies et toute l'équipe attend impatiemment les convives au 59 Almshouse. Et en passant, leur nom, c'est également leur adresse!

We were a group of four - two adults and two kids. They have outside seating which is nice! Our table, unfortunately, was way too small for four people IMO - b/t the stuff already on the table (candles, sugars, etc), once you get your drinks and one appetizer, the table is blown out - you're practically using the table all the way to its corners. In fact, at one point, I had to balance my small dish of lemon slices on the [fake] candle to accommodate the appetizer and the four appetizer plates along with our drinks. Not long after the appetizer, our entrees came out, making space even tighter. In fact, because we were still working on the appetizer, we swapped our app plates for our entree dishes for the sake of space. Entree-wise then, I'd say they were ok. IMVHO, it's like they try too hard to fluff up their dishes adding things that people must question and then have put on the side. I'm not sure many of these flavors are meant to go together either. I ordered the short rib quesotacos, which I asked our waiter about - he honestly explained them to me, and I was still intrigued, especially because I wanted short rib. The meat was indeed good but cooked the way it was with loads of cheese on a flattop makes them very, very oily. I didn't even want the second one and today my stomach is not my friend. Each of my son's ordered off the kids' menu - one mac & cheese, one pizza - the mac was good (not kraft from what I can tell, which is nice), the cheese pizza, however, is on a flatbread so thin, it couldn't even support all the cheese that was on there. My son didn't say much, but we could tell he wasn't a fan. Thinking about it, they put way too much cheese on several dishes. Lastly, there are too many flies for whatever reason, which makes sitting outside uncomfortable. Yes, we could have gone inside; it was, however, a beautiful day, so we settled and did what we could to keep them at bay. I honestly don't think we'll be going back anytime soon :(

I love this place. I’ll definitely be coming back. The food was excellent and there was a ton of it. I can’t recommend this place enough.

We very much enjoyed dining at 59 Almshouse. Although we live in the area this was our first visit and we certainly are planning to return. We were very impressed with the extensive menu which in our experience we found to be rather rare these days. We liked the broad offerings that not only included American fare but significant Oriental and European dishes as well. It truly was an amazing selection. Our waitress was very nice to us and we were pleased with the food and found the prices to be very reasonable. This will be one of our few go-to establishments.
