First visit here, biggest nuisance was noise level. The live music was good, but volume was over the top. And we were in the dining area! There with my 90 yr old mother. I was hoping for a break from the music. They did take one but the music playing during was just as loud. I noticed lots of younger people @ the bar even closer to the music, but didn't stay long... may have been because of the volume! Food was good.

Waiter was great, attentive and he had a good personality. Shrimp and grits were ok. Atmosphere was nice.

I did not dine here, we were being seated and immediately realized we were in the hotel restaurant, so we left. If you want to dine in the hotel that offers free breakfast with your stay type of ambiance, then this is your place. I would not recommend this based only on this.

I usually avoid hotel restaurants, but when I booked my table I didn’t know 22 Square was in a hotel. Lucky for me. They have delicious shrimp and grits. Better than many restaurants in Charleston. Their take on hush puppies was very good too.

Our first time here on Date Night. There was a live singer in the bar area that was extremely loud for the adjacent restaurant area. It took nearly 25 min to get our drinks and apps. Food order was alm0st an hour. Food was decent but not good enough for the wait. Our server was energetic and did the best he could, considering the slowness of the bar and kitchen. Don't plan on returning anytime soon.
