We’re a farm-to-table restaurant that’s redefining what fine dining means. We work with local vendors and farmers to find the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. We understand the challenges of finding high-quality options that unique, vegan or allergy-friendly, especially since the owner has Celiac Disease herself, among other dietary restrictions. Our kitchen creates fresh food from scratch every day and can customize to your needs, so we’ve got you covered. Plus, we're the only restaurant in McHenry County to have received Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, and our expert staff can help you choose the perfect pairing.

For us, fine dining is more than the very best in food, service and atmosphere. It’s a conversation and a connection to others. We believe everyone deserves good food so we’ve started a movement to do just that.

The food and service at 1776 was wonderful. Kristen was a fantastic and helpful server and helped guide us through our questions about the menu. While they have an amazing wine list(they do) don’t sleep on the bourbon selection. Berkshire pork chop and lamb shank were delicious and the burrata to start was a perfect way to start off our dining experience

We have been going to 1776 for many years and the food and service has always been 5 stars, but last night was somewhat disappointing. When we arrived we were 5 minutes early for our reservation and the table wasn’t ready for us. No big deal so we went to the Bar for a drink. However, after 20 minutes of waiting I went to the Hostess stand to find out about our table. We were told the table still wasn’t ready. Finally, after another 10 minute wait we did get a table. Our waitress was nice, but seemed overwhelmed by the moment. Within a couple of minutes she was ready to take our order. It just seemed rushed to me. It appeared to me that they were just trying to turn the table as quick as possible. We never had that experience at 1776. Our dinners were good, but it didn’t feel that we’re at a fine dining restaurant experience. It felt more like eating at a chain restaurant.

two of us ordered chicken and two of us ordered filets. All four of us were happy with the selections we made. The chicken, while not preferable to have to cut it off the bone, was tender and tasty. The filets were very good and cooked to the specification of each customer. Suggestion would be to add a vegetable to the filets instead of potatoes (which were very good).

Drinks were amazing, food was bland. All the meat was overcooked. Not worth the value in my opinion

Every part of the meal was exquisite and so very comfortable. In other words it was extraordinary like many white table cloth Chicago restaurants without the stuffiness and attitude. Great job to the chef and owners in creating a perfect combination of remarkable food and comfortable surroundings.

The appetizers, soups, entrees and desserts were great! The Service was excellent . First time here, and will definitely be back.

Heather and your staff did well. Lamb shank was cooked perfectly. First bite I wanted more seasoning flavor. I figured out I had stripped off the thin fat layer which had the spices. Much better with a bit of that with every bite. Burrata and peaches superb, lobster corn dogs. Oh my, could have orders two and have that be dinner. Overall very enjoyable experience.

Excellent dinner! The chairs could be more comfortable though. Great wine list but wish more options by the glass. Sound proofing the n ceiling great but still a bit noisy. Will definitely be back!

This was my third time dining here. Which were great. But this time was not . It was undestaffed so waitress didn’t have time to check on our dinners my 8oz fillet was over cooked I ordered medium rare and it was not red at all. Dry. My wife’s dish was not appetizing either. Then we waited 15 minutes for waitress to return my debit card. Bad experience it’s going down hill
